Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action
Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action (AA) are terms that are distinctively different, yet closely related. They each play an important role in establishing an equitable and productive work environment at Delex. We are fully committed to ensuring that we meet the requirements of both, while providing opportunity to grow and learn for our employees.
What Is Equal Opportunity?
In all hiring and employment practices, Delex Systems makes every effort to ensure that it does not discriminate illegally against employees and applicants. Delex Systems’ employment policies are based on the premise that applicants for employment are considered only on the basis of job-related qualifications.
Under Federal law each individual, as a basic right, is entitled to equal employment opportunity without regard to race, color, religion, sex, (including pregnancy and gender identity), sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, genetics or veteran status except where such status constitutes a bona fide occupational qualification. This right to equal opportunity encompasses all phases of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, training, promotion, compensation, working conditions and benefits. In addition to the protected categories cited under Federal law, the protections offered under state law to individuals in the states in which Delex does business are incorporated by reference. It is the policy of Delex Systems to take affirmative action to ensure that these rights are protected.
How is Affirmative Action Different?
Affirmative Action is also based on legal requirements, and was created to eliminate present and past discrimination among particular demographic groups, including qualified women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and disabled and other protected veterans in our work force.
Delex is committed to the employment and promotion of these groups in our workforce. This commitment requires that our policies and procedures for recruitment, selection, placement, testing, transfer, promotion, training, compensation, benefits, layoff and termination provide all persons the opportunity for employment on an equal basis.
What are the Benefits?
At Delex, a diversified workforce provides positive benefits to the company and to the community at large by providing opportunities for applicants with the right skill set to contribute to Delex’s strategic objectives, and advancement and promotion opportunities for our current workforce.
What is Our Policy?
Any employee who believes that he has been or is being subject to unfair or illegal employment practices, including any form of unlawful discrimination or harassment, should report the matter immediately, including by bringing the matter to the direct attention of the President or the Chief Executive Officer.
