Ship's Integrated Data Environment – SIDE
The Ship's Integrated Data Environment is a fully interactive, "smart" 3-D model of a
platform and its systems, integrating and automating multiple shipboard functions.
Each system within the platform is produced using a laser scanning system to produce
three-dimensional computer-aided design renderings of the object. These images are then
used to create virtual three-dimensional models of the systems and components that are
"coded" to simulate the functioning systems aboard the ship.
Originally developed for shipboard application,
SIDE is configurable to any major platform/weapon system.
